10:00 Children's Mass
St. Brigid Church celebrates Mass each weekend on Saturday at
4:00 p.m. (Vigil), and Sunday at 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
If your children get a little fidgety or bored at Mass, join us at our
monthly 10:00 a.m. Children's Mass, held on the first Sunday of the
month. Children are an important part of
St. Brigid Parish, and
they are very warmly
The Children's Mass is a wonderful way of teaching the
children about Jesus and the Mass. Jesus
encouraged children to come to him. He was upset when his disciples
tried to stop them. Jesus laid his hands on children and blessed them.
In our parish, he continues to welcome them and touch their lives.
participate in all areas of the Mass. We have a children's choir
for any children that would like to sing, and different children are chosen to be
lectors at each Mass. All the children
are invited to come up around the Altar for the homily which is
especially prepared for the children, and special handouts "Explaining
God's Word" are given to each child. The children look forward to
taking these home.
During the school year we also invite you and your family to join us for
coffee, juice and donuts at our "After Mass gathering" in the Church
Hall following the 10:00 a.m. Children's Mass. It's a wonderful way to
keep those little ones interested in coming to Mass and to meet friends in
your parish community.
If your child is in second through eighth grade and would like to read
Children's Mass, please
fill out the reader's volunteer form and return it to the CCD office.
I will put your child's name on our list of readers, and we will call your child to read. If he or she is available, a copy of
the reading will be mailed to your child at least a week before so that
he or she can practice.
We look forward to seeing you there.
