We use RCL Benzinger's Blest Are We text books.  Each child receives his or her own book. 

Eighth grade students should demonstrate at the end of this grade Level the following understandings:

  • Briefly review the Churchís teaching on the Incarnation and Redemption.

  • Recall the importance of strengthening our relationship with God, self and others.

  • Review the Ten Commandments.

  • That the moral life is a response to Godís love.

  • That respect for human life is a basic Gospel value.

  • Know by heart the following prayers: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Apostles Creed and Act of Contrition.

  • Review Mysteries of the Rosary.

  • Understand their growth from a Christian perspective.

  • Understand that God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who creates, saves and makes the world holy.

  • Learn that through the Bible God reveals Himself to us.
